The 'Heartbleed' bug and your Kootenay Savings business
There has been a lot of information in the news lately about the Heartbleed Bug. We are pleased to report that the technology affected by the recently uncovered bug, OpenSSL, is NOT used by any of our online channels (web, online banking, mobile banking and associated apps) therefore we are not vulnerable to this issue. This means that the Heartbleed bug does not pose a threat to our members.
Your money and personal information held at Kootenay Savings continues to be safe and secure.
New Paper Statement Fee
Effective April 1, 2014 a fee of $2 per month for paper statements will be introduced to help offset the rising costs of postage while protecting the environment by going paperless. Save yourself money by switching to eStatements today. Ask us how or login to Online Banking and fill out the Paper Statement Opt-Out Form found under Statement Preferences in the My Accounts tab.
Castlegar Branches to Consolidate
Kootenay Savings has announced plans to consolidate their two Castlegar locations. With the overwhelming success of the LEED certified Crossroads Branch and the evolving changes in banking needs, service will be enhanced by consolidating the two Castlegar branches and operating six days a week at the Crossroads location.
Kootenay Savings Annual General Meeting

Service Fee Change
Please be advised effective January 1, 2014, the service fee for depositing US or foreign funds cheques into a Canadian funds account will increase to $5.00. This fee does not apply to US cheques deposited into a US Dollar Account.
