Growing Bright Futures: Education & Leadership Support

At Kootenay Savings, we’re dedicated to empowering education, leadership, and community involvement. Each year, we offer bursaries, recognize Community Champs and send youth to the YES Camp.

High School Bursaries 

Every year, we proudly support local high school graduates in our service areas by providing $1,500 bursaries to deserving students who plan on attending a post secondary institution. 


Criteria & How To Apply

  • For more information on how to apply,
    visit your high school office.
  • To be eligible you or your parent/guardian must
    be a member of Kootenay Savings.


 
Post-Secondary Bursaries 

Are you a student in financial need attending the College of the Rockies or Selkirk College? Check out the links below to apply for a Kootenay Savings Bursary.

Are you a credit union member and a student with financial need? We invite you to apply for a Credit Union Foundation bursary!

Winter: January 1 - February 15
Spring: May 1 - June 15

Community Champs Awards

Are you a student in the Kootenays who loves giving back? Whether you volunteer, mentor, or support community groups, we want to hear your story! You could win a $2,000 award!


Some Details:

  • Applications open mid-April and close May 15.
  • Six awards available.
  • Open to Grade 12 & Post Secondary Students.

YES Camp Sponsorships 

Are you between the ages of 14–18? Take a look at YES Camp, a leadership and team-building camp held at Cowichan Lake on Vancouver Island. 

Camp Info:

  • 5 KSCU Scholarships available
  • 7 camp dates to choose from
  • Sponsorship includes everything except transportation to Kelowna
    (Campers then transported to Vancouver Island)
 

Since 2000, awarded

in High School with bursaries
that have totaled $472,500

Since 2003, we've awarded 
94 Students 
serving as Community Champs
with
financial support for
their studies. 
That's a total of $158,000

Since 2012, sent 
75 Youth
to YES Camp, a leadership
and team-building 
camp for 14-18-year-olds.
