Each year we support hundreds of community projects and events in the Kootenays through sponsorships and in-kind donations. If your organization is looking for financial support or prizes for your community event, program or activity, let us know a little bit about your group and what you’re planning.
It’s important to us to help people who are interested in education and personal growth get the opportunities they deserve. We reward students in high school, post-secondary and continuing education with sponsorships and awards each year.
If you're a Kootenay-area Grade 12 or post-secondary student who jumps at the chance to give back to your community, we want to hear from you! What are you doing to make a difference? Are you volunteering? Working with community groups? Mentoring peers or younger students? Tell us your story and you could win $2,000 for your education. Six bursaries will be awarded this year. One could be yours!

Every year we show our support to local high school graduates by providing $1,500 bursaries to deserving students who plan to attend a technology, university, college or vocational school. To be eligible to receive a KS Community Foundation Bursary, students or their parents must be members of Kootenay Savings. More information on how to apply for these bursaries is available at your high school office.
The YES Camp at Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island is an incredible experience for teens aged 14-18. Each year, we sponsor local Kootenay kids to attend the camp for an action-packed week of fun, learning and adventure. With fun games, events and activities campers are sure to make friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
Since it began in 2000, the Kootenay Savings Community Foundation has invested millions of dollars into non-profit cultural, economic, educational, environmental, health and social projects and initiatives in the Kootenays. Together with our partners, we’re working to make the Kootenays even better.
We believe that everyone in our communities deserves to have access to the information and resources they need to feel empowered and knowledgeable when making financial decisions.
